This program is intended for qualified the API inspector in turnaround.

- Conducting inspections of assigned equipment, pipelines, and other components to ensure they meet regulatory standards, industry codes (such as API standards), and company requirements.

- Review and interpret non-destructive testing (NDT) results to assess the condition of equipment.

- Communicating inspection findings and recommendations to stakeholders clearly and effectively

- Documenting inspection results, findings, and recommendations accurately.

- In case of equipment failures, propose accurate corrective actions based on regulatory standards, and international codes.

Valid Certifications

  - Confined space

  - API 510 and API 570

  - NACE CIP1: Coating inspector (options)

  - CSWIP BGAS (Option)


Experiences

  - At least 3 years working in field API inspector 

  - Worked as API inspector during T/A at least 1 time

General Knowledge of Static Equipment

-  Know all components of equipment (Pressure vessel, Heat exchanger, column)


Basic Knowledge Nondestructive Examination (ASME V)

- Ale to interpret NDE Result (MT, PT, UTM, RT profile)

- Know the advantage & limitation on each NDE method (MT, PT, UTM, ECT, IRIS, RT optional)


In-Service Inspection & Inspection Pratices for Pressure Vessel (Refer code API510 & API572) 

- Understand calculation sheet and able to calculate require thickness, corrosion rate & remaining life.

- Able to issue IVR (anomaly finding) report and repair procedure.


Damge Mechaisms Affecting Equipment (Refer API571) 

- Understand basic failure mode and damage mechanisms


Repair of Pressure Equipment (Refer ASME PCC-1, 2) 

- Able to recommend repair equipment (plug tube, weld repair, component replacement)

        - Able to issue repair procedure and recommend appropriate inspection technique


Welding process, Inspection and Metallurgy (Refer API577 & ASME IX)

       - Able to recommend appropriate welding process and welding consumable.

       - Able to review WPS & welding qualified.

Exam duration

     8.30 – 9.00 : Vision test

     9.00 – 12.00 : Theoretical exam (50 Point)

     13.30 – 17.00 : Interview (50 Point)


Criteria

    Qualified person shall meet a total score of at least 70 points and score 50% on each section.

    Submit highlight inspection reports 

Re-Exam

Can take the exam for only the part that is not passed 1 time. If you do not pass the exam again, you must take the exam all over again.

Renewed of Licenses

The license expires within 3 years, interview are required.
